Master WAD List

Overview

There are over 100,000 known WADs circulating online and in the old shovelware collections. Listing them all on one page would undoubtably make it difficult to browse, so the lists of WADs analyzed by this website are broken into several categories.

WAD Lists

IWADs
In order to play a game that uses the Doom engine, you'll need an IWAD. These contain the assets for a complete game, and often are complete games in and of themselves. This includes the commercial releases of Doom and Doom 2.

PWADs by Collection
This list groups PWADs by where they can be found. For example, you can look up what PWADs are available on a specific CD-ROM collection. (Coming soon!)

Megawads
Megawads are full player-made campaigns that build on their respective base game. They may include custom content beyond levels, but they aren't intended to be stand alone games like an IWAD. (Coming soon!)

Music-only PWADs
As much as everyone loves the classic soundtracks, it's sometimes worth trying out something new. That's where these PWADs come in - they only include new music for existing levels, allowing them to be combined with many other WADs. (Coming soon!)

Sound-only PWADs
For a particularly unique experience, try swapping out the traditional sound effects with new ones using these PWADs.(Coming soon!)
