List of IWADs

Overview

Unlike PWADs (which are the majority of the WADs out there), IWADs contain the raw assets needed for a complete game. Most IWADs are even treated as entire games in and of themselves.

In fact, order to play Doom or Doom 2, you'll need an IWAD. This is usually doom.wad for Doom / Ultimate Doom, or doom2.wad for Doom 2: Hell on Earth.

Below are the IWADs that have been examined so far. Simply click on the title screen for more information, such as their maps and music.

The Big Four

These are the IWADs for the "official" Doom games. Most PWADs use doom.wad or doom2.wad as their IWAD, but the other two can sometimes be used instead. All four of these must be purchased somewhere, such as Steam or GOG.
